Meister Hans Hoyer Heritage Model double french horns, refer to the model numbers 7801,6801.  A  number 2 at the end of the model number specifies that the horn is with string linkage.  (7802 for example)  Each of these models are descendants of the “Kruspe-Horner” models, or to draw a more modern comparison, are built like Elkhart Conn 8D horns.  The Heritage models are free blowing, offer great intonation, a noble traditional sound, and a quick response.    These horns were developed with assistance from horn greats Myron Bloom and Vince DeRosa.

7801 Ms

double french horn

Design features Kruspe-Horner valve configuration that has been “pre-aged” by MHH technicians.

The 7801 Ms standard specs are as follows: 0.468” bore, 12.205” bell diameter, yellow brass,  gold brass lead pipe, adjustable thumb lever, 3B mechanical linkage system, large throated bell.

Available options are: detachable bell, nickel silver body, string mechanism  (7802), single seam brass bell, nickel silver garland, adjustable finger hook.  Note: The 7801 and 7802 are pre-aged, which is a process that reduces stress in the newly built instrument, providing a similar “feel” to that of an older, more played-in horn.
